How to use
How to use
- Boil the pump in water for 2–3 minutes before first use and allow it to cool completely.
- Place the flange over your nipple, making sure it is comfortably centered in the pump’s neck.
- Adjust the position if needed, then gently squeeze the base to create suction and start milk flow.
- Once milk begins flowing, let the pump work naturally.
- When the pump is full, pour the milk into a safe storage container. Reposition as needed to continue collecting milk.
- If milk flow slows or you have expressed enough, attach the suction base to a flat surface to finish or temporarily secure the pump.
Tips
- Use gentle warmth, such as a flannel, compress, heating pouch, or warm shower, and lightly massage your breasts to stimulate milk flow.
- While nursing on one side, place the pump on the other breast without suction to catch milk that would otherwise be absorbed by a pad.

Cleaning & Sterilising
After each use, wash your Haakaa with gentle, baby-safe soap and warm water. You can also sterilise it by boiling for 2–3 minutes or using a steam steriliser. Avoid bleach-based cleaners, sterilising tablets, or UV sterilisers, as these can affect the silicone’s lifespan. A soft sponge or brush works best - hard scourers can scratch the surface.
Caution
Check the product regularly for any signs of wear or damage and replace if needed. Exposure to detergent may make the silicone appear cloudy. Use the Shell only for its intended purpose. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
