In the morning, I noticed the mucus plug coming out, and by noon, light contractions had started. I even managed to reply to my last work emails.
Before that, I often joked that I would probably go straight from my work desk to the delivery table. And that’s more or less what happened :)
Around 3:00 PM, when I went to take a shower, I felt the contractions getting much stronger. After the shower, I tried to eat something, but eventually said — to hell with it, let’s go give birth.
By the time we got through the traffic jams, it was 4:45 PM.
At the admissions desk, I already felt that I was probably fully dilated — I could barely make it to the birthing room. The whole team gathered, the midwives just had time to tie their gowns — and I was already ready to push!
At 5:18 PM, my second daughter was born smoothly.
The wonderful team gave perfect instructions and motivation for pushing. Thank you to them!
